Cannot enable 1Password extension in iOS 8

I have 1Password v5.5 installed on my iPhone 6, running iOS v8.4, but I cannot enable the 1Password extension because the 1Password iOS extension does not appear in the share sheet settings. I wanted to attach a screen capture to show that the 1Password extension doesn’t show on the share sheet settings screen, but I couldn’t figure how to attach it to the post.

I thought about deleting 1Password and then reinstalling it, but I'm concerned that I may lose all of the information I’ve entered.

Advice is welcomed.

  • Hi @regor,

Hopefully you are making regular backups, so data loss would not be an issue: https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/
If not, I'd suggest starting now. ;)

Yes, deleting the 1Password app will erase all of the data contained within.

does not appear in the share sheet settings

What do you see there? If you see Message, Mail, Twitter, Facebook, etc. then you are in the wrong spot (you're in the top row's 'More' section and need to be in the bottom row's 'More' section).

    Thanks!

    Ben

Here's the screen capture to show that the 1Password extension doesn’t show on the share sheet settings screen:

    Ben,
Thanks for the comment. I made a backup per the link you supplied and will delete my 1Password app, reinstall it and then restore from the backup. I’ll post the results, probably tomorrow.

@regor: Excellent! Please let us know how it turns out. And be sure to let us know if you have any other questions. We're always here to help! :)

..however I will add that Jailbreaking your iPhone can cause a lot of things to not work correctly (not to mention open you up to vulnerabilities), and ultimately this is not supported — neither by Apple nor AgileBits. Your mileage may vary. :dizzy:

I deleted my 1Password app, reinstalled it and then restored from the backup. No change, the 1Password iOS extension still doesn’t appear in the share sheet settings. I guess I’ll have to live without this feature. :'(

Ben & brenty, thanks for your comments.

@regor: You're welcome, but I'm very sorry that it still isn't showing up for you. It may be a an issue introduced by the Jailbreak...but it's entirely possible that there's just a glitch in there somewhere. Going forward, you might try reinstalling iOS itself at some point to see if that resolves the issue for you.
