Wifi Sync iPad to OSX not working…
Macbook Air to iPad Mini 2: wifi sync timing out. Restarted both machines. Setup ad-hoc wifi network between both machines (iOS 8 and 10.9.5). Restarted both and setup new ad-hoc. No love. Quit 1password on both machines. Completely turned off firewall in Mavericks. Restarted both machines. New ad-hoc network, booted 1password on both again. New secret. Still sync times out. Whaa-a-at is the solution please?
1Password Version: 4.4.3
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 10.9.5

Well, I think I've figured out the problem myself. I'm on Mavericks (noted above) and 1Password 5 isn't supported for OSX previous to El Capitan, so my mac maxes out at 1Password 4. After using 1Password for 2-3 years, I decided to buy the iOS version for my new iPad—1Password 5. What a shame my machines can't talk to eachother. Pretty frustrating.
Assuming this really is te cause of my perpetual wifi sync "timed out" connection issues, I gotta say that agilebits could add some resolution to those error messages; something like "1Password 5 not compatible with 1Password 4."

@syncopated: Sorry for the confusion! 1Password 4 and 5 uses the same Wi-Fi Sync protocols, so that isn't your problem. Both are incompatible with 1Password 3, as it was rewritten for 1Password 4. And if they were really compatible, the wouldn't know enough about each other to tell you that the were. ;)
A timeout (error code 60) indicates that the traffic is being blocked on your network somewhere. So the fact that it is still failing with an ad-hoc network indicates that it is a device issue. usually this will be the computer, since iOS devices simply don't have firewall settings. However, do you have proxy settings on either device which might result in traffic being rerouted, even via ad-hoc? Which version of 1Password or iOS are you using? Thanks in advance! :)

OK, hmm. I'm at a loss for what could be causing this on my mac. No proxy settings other than default, that I'm aware of.
I'm running iOS 8.4.1 and 1Password for iOS 5.5, and 1Password for OSX 4.4.3
Thanks!

@syncopated: I'm sorry that you're still having trouble. Indeed, I had hoped that you might have an idea what the culprit might be (proxy, firewall, security software, etc.) At this point, the best thing to do will be to generate a diagnostic report and send it to support+forums@agilebits.com so we can look at the logs to determine exactly what is happening:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)
Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)*
*In 1Password Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Log Settings, enable Wi-Fi Sync
Just be sure to include a link to this forum thread and your username in the email so we can 'connect the dots'. We will get to the bottom of this! :)
