UserID/PW not entered correctly on www.bcbsm.com [now working with the 6.3.BETA-18 build]

The above site does not log me in correctly when trying to have 1Password enter the user name and password. It takes me to a different login page, having apparently gotten incorrect credentials. The workaround is to click the "Login" button on the page to reveal the user/pw fields, then manually copy and paste the user then the pw.

This problem has been happening for a long time (possibly "forever") - sorry for taking so long to report it.

    Hi @mirv,

    Please give this a try:

    • Open the main https://www.bcbsm.com page in your browser
    • Click the LOGIN button to reveal the Username and Password fields
    • Press the ⌘\ (Command-\) keyboard shortcut to run Fill Login on current web page

Does that successfully log you in? That would be easier than copying/pasting your username and password there.

An preferable alternative might be to manually save a new Login item on the https://member.bcbsm.com/mpa/ page and use it instead for logging in with 1Password on that site.

Let me know how that goes; thanks!

Good suggestion. But I tried it and it didn't work. It took me to the page where it says my user name and/or password is invalid. Manually saving a new login item didn't work either. There must be something about the code in this page that mangles the user name/pw in some cases?

However the longer URL you mentioned did work with 1Password. If I go to that page (https://member.bcbsm.com/mpa/home/) rather than the main page (https://bcbsm.com) my password fills correctly from the 1Password Mini menu or cmd-\.

    Hi @mirv,

    Thanks for trying that.

I'm not sure what's happening there. When the login fails for you does it look like this?

Or is it more like this?

Glad you had success using the longer URL. Should still work if shortened a bit to https://member.bcbsm.com/mpa/. :)

Is that an acceptable resolution to this problem for you right now? Of course we'd eventually like to have it working through the main page as well.

PS: I've moved this discussion to the Saving and Filling in Browsers category.

I get the first page you show. And yes it does indeed work with the shortened URL you gave.

Sure, this resolution is acceptable. I wasn't really looking for a resolution unless there was some way that 1P could magically just work without any workarounds.

Thanks for looking into this. -Mark

On behalf of sjk, you are most welcome! No magic yet, but hopefully we'll have a breakthrough. ;)

I'm glad that helps as a workaround. And in the mean time, we'll also continue to work to improve both 1Password and the extension. Cheers! :)

After today's beta release notes about how the brain was updated, I decided to try the chronic problem of filling user id and pw into the site bcbsm.com. To my pleasant surprise, it worked!
