I am a systems admin and was using 1password primarily to login to WHM and CPANEL . They are Very famous server control panel platforms.
Now these use self signed certificates and the URLS are like https://74.50.126.12:2087/
Links like these were working earlier . Now these just show an SSL error and do not open the page.
There are thousands of cpanel and WHM users across the globe and its important that those links work .
I couldn't find any option in your software to whitelist those links ( considering the possible ssl name mismatch )

Again these were working earlier , but they have conked off since a recent upgrade.
Kindly advise.

    Hi @mpkapadia,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble opening certain sites! To help us figure out what's going wrong, can you please let us know a few more details:

    • What exact version of 1Password is installed on your iOS devices?
    • What version of iOS is running on your iOS device?
    • Are you trying to open those sites in 1Browser (i.e. the built-in web browser in 1Password)?
    • Do the same sites work in the mobile Safari app?
    • You said this problem started after "a recent upgrade". Do you mean an upgrade to iOS, or an upgrade/update to 1Password?
    • What is the exact error message you get when trying to open those sites? If possible, it would be great to see a screenshot of the error.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Drew

    1. I am using this on my ipad Mini . Running IOS 8.3
    2. 1Password version is 5.5
    3. The error comes on the browser and screenshot is attached.
    4. Yes the links work on safari after i click continue
    5. I have not upgraded ios recently so i am guessing that its related to the 1password upgrade itself.
    6. Exact error i get is shown on the screenshot.

My guess is to fix this you just need to give me an option to go to the site even if the ibrowser "THINKS" its not secure.

@mpkapadia: I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This is a known issue with the iOS API we're using. Hopefully this will be fixed in an iOS update, but we're also trying to find a workaround. Thanks for your patience!

I am wondering how is it that it works in safari for IOS as well as Chrome for IOS . Please try to give a workaround for this . And if its being worked upon would you be having an ETA for the same.

@mpkapadia: No timeframe, but we're looking for a workaround. After all, it is a nuisance for all of us, not just you! ;)

There are a few different webview options for developers now, so it's likely that Chrome (perhaps for historical reasons), is using a different one. Safari, on the other hand, doesn't have to use a webview at all. It's the only app on iOS that can have a full-fledged browser engine, so it simply isn't subject to the limitations and restrictions that the rest of us are.

1Password gains a lot (both security and functionality-wise) from the webview it uses, but this is one drawback.
