Security questions overriding password

Our website sometimes asks for users to answer security questions before performing sensitive actions. These answers are in password fields and as such, 1Password attempts to save the answers and overrides the user's saved password. How can this be avoided?

@krandall: By not also designating them as 'password' fields. ;)

In all seriousness though, this can also be problematic for screenreaders, so I think it's pretty important. We have some information in our knowledgebase about designing compatible websites which might also be helpful.

Other options for your particular problem are disabling autosave in 1Password for the site, using unique identifiers for these fields on your site, or — if all else fails — retrieving the 'old' password that was overwritten from the password history in the login details in 1Password. I hope this helps! :)
