i day out (iOs9) and I cannot put 1Password on my iOS 8 phone!
I don't want to upgrade the 4S to iOS9 just yet. I want to wait a week.
Which means I CANNOT install 1Password, as I cannot download it as it REQUIRES iOS9.
If I had done it yesterday all would be well. Sigh. I am feeling very shouty about it.
I thought the App Store allowed the download of old versions when the iOS was not at the very latest?
Why is that not happening for 1Password?
Is it going to happen or am I now excluded forever (along with everyone else on older phones)?
Sadly
Miriam

Sorry didn't add: iOS8. 1Password whatever.

Hi @MiriamNZ,
Older versions of apps will only show up if you have previously downloaded those apps using your Apple ID. One way to make this happen is to download 1Password in iTunes on a computer that is logged into your Apple ID, and then you should be able to download it on your phone.
I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for that. I did try that, unsuccessfully. It repeated that it would only work with iOS9.

The app, on a newly setup older phone, has not been downloaded before by this apple ID.

Hi @MiriamNZ,
Ah, okay, that would be the issue then. The app has to have previously been downloaded by that Apple ID in order for Apple to offer up the older version. You'd need to download onto another device first. You can do so on a Mac or Windows PC using iTunes, or on another iDevice that is associated with that Apple ID but running iOS 9. Unfortunately that is the only way Apple will allow for older version downloads.
Thanks.

Hmm. I was one day late.
Perhaps agilebits could let us know a week in advance that they putting out a version that will block all older devices from getting it. Reminding those of us who still have or use (or about to hand on) older devices that the change will make a (crippling) difference.
There are lots of older devices. The apps work on them. How dumb that we can't get them, that they are being crippled by software policies, not the actual death of the software itself. All of us with new devices move on our old devices, and we move them on to real people who also need apps.

Same situation here. My phone is 8.4.1 and I do not want to upgrade yet. I want to wait few weeks until most developers release an update to their apps. Doesn't make sense that your app doesn't support from 8 and above for a while until 9 is stable.

We do appreciate the feedback, folks. :) I will say however that iOS 9 has the same system requirements, and for me actually takes up less disk space, as/than iOS 8.
And as I mentioned above, it may still be possible to get the older version of the app, there are just unfortunately some hoops to jump through:
