1P 6 - Spotlight doesn't work on 4S ans Ipad 3 (iOS 9, build 13A344)

Hi,

Nice new update with 1P 6.

Unfortunately, Spotlight doesn't work on my iPhone 4S and iPad 3 (both with iOS 9).

Spotlight is enable in the settings but gives me no answer :-( (even for "simple" request like "Amazon" ... SL with Mail, Safari ... works fine)

SL is also enabled in iOS's settings, it works without problem (just disable Bing and Spotlight suggestions, try enable ... it's not better).

Is it a bug or a limitation of iOS on my old peripherals (32 bits) ?

Thank you.

Michael

Agree - nice work on the App. Looks great!

But same issue with Spotlight Search for me with iPhone 5S and 4S!

    Even 5S ? so I think it's a bug

    I'm also on a 5S, but I have 9.1b1, and I don't see Spotlight search results either.

I stand corrected, I never realized there was 2 parts where to allow Spotlight Search, the iOS one and the 1P one, working perfect now.

I may have found a bug, when dismissing an attached picture the app turns black and I have to froce close

I have the same issue where the spotlight index doesn't work. Was fine on my iPhone 5s

Same iPad 3rd gen and build no as above latest version of 1password v6

I have deleted the app and re installed
Reset the settings on the iPad
Switched off and on in the settings under spotlight.
Also force quit app and rebooted too.

All with no luck. Indexing was almost instant on the iPhone.

    Handy feature!

    Any ideas?

    Great update too!

According to Federico Viticci's iOS 9 review:

Also, because indexing local app content can be a CPU-intensive task, background updates to the database may not be immediate (though this has been sporadic in my tests) and the search functionality of NSUserActivity and CoreSpotlight is not supported on the iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad (3rd generation), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation).

  • Thanks for adding that, @XIII! I'd suggest anyone having this issue give your device a day or so to catch up, and if you are still having the issue please let us know. Also please let us know which device model is having the issue (e.x. iPhone 5s)
