Moving logins to category

Hello, firstly I must say I'm loving the latest update to 1password for iOS.

I would like help with an issue. In the beginning I used to just create 'logins' for everything using the Windows version of 1password which were saved for me automatically. The other day, I manually entered a new login by using the iPhone app and hitting the '+' button and selecting 'Email' I now had my email address categorised nicely under the 'Email' icon in the main view. I then tried to move my other 12 emails (yes, really) into the 'Emails' category, but there doesn't seem to be a way of doing it! The only option to move was to a folder. How can I move my emails from the 'logins' category to the 'Emails' category?

@EAPTCB - I'm so sorry but there is currently no way to change the category of an item. We have been asked for this feature a number of times and it is in our feature request list.

    Oh, OK.

Hopefully a nicer GUI for the Windows version to match Mac and iOS will be on that list too. :)

  • We're actually working on a Windows Modern application @EAPTCB so we'll see what the future holds

Now for the Login and Email categories. I can't add anything new to what Laura has already said I'm afraid but I thought there is one bit of information you may be interested in.

When I first stumbled on the Email category (I started off as just a mere user) I moved all of my email addresses over thinking this was great. Then I eventually realised it did mean one significant drawback - webmail interfaces didn't have the right item to work with. What I now do is I keep an Email item for email addresses that I use exclusively via a proper email client or I keep a generic Email item for addresses that I use in both a browser and an email client. For example gmail. I keep a gmail Email item that stores the IMAP addresses and port numbers but each actual email address is stored as a Login item to also allow webmail.

That's just my setup, it might not suit you or it might seem like a reasonable idea. I just thought I'd throw it in as a suggestion
