1Password won't open with iOS 9

So I installed iOS 9.0 on my iPad mini 2 two days ago. I wanted to check for one of my passwords and, unfortunately, I couldn't access my passwords. It was the first time that I tried since the OS update. Every time I enter my Master Password, it keeps saying "Decrypting". Nothing else happens. I tried to completely close the app in the multitasking view and whatever password I type, I doesn't work.
Thank you for reading my message!
(By the way, I'm from Canada and I'm using the app in French.)

    1Password version 6, iOS 9.0
Same here. I am a new user of 1Password and my brother has bragged about it for a couple of years. I finally decided to try it and now this happens. And it doesn't do it every time, but over half the time. Anyone else? We can't be the only ones with this problem.

    1Password version 6, lOS 9.0
Looks like this has something to do with the iOS 9.0 iCloud sync problem. I deleted 1Password and then reinstalled it from the App Store. By doing that I get two choices upon opening 1Password; Sync Existing Vault or Create New Vault. Won't sync with existing vault.

    1password is version 6.0
I can login on the iPod Touch 5th second generation ( latest). On iPhone 6 with ios 9 i can login with the password but the Touch ID doesn't work. The 1Password try to open and shut down. I must remove 1Password from the open apps and open manually with the password.

    1password version 6
adrie2015 - not sure what you mean about removing 1password from open apps and open manually with password. You mean you can open with your master password but not your Touch ID? We can't open with the password.

Mine is sort of working now but I uninstalled 1password and when I reinstalled it, it asked if I wanted to create a new vault. I tried but it didn't work either. Then today 1password only worked with new vault password until I synced with iCloud. Now it works with original vault password but my previous entries are all gone. Poof.

    Hi guys,

Are you using the Low Power mode by any chance on your iOS devices?

Please connect your iOS devices to the power outlet and try again, see if that works. You may need to wait a few minutes after the power connection and then restart the 1Password app.

We found a bug in iOS 9 where certain apps won't sync with iCloud if the device wasn't connected to the power. We will report this issue to Apple.

Please let us know if this helps at all.

I had to restore my new iphone 6s to factory settings yesterday and set it up from an icloud back up. When I click on 1 password it stays stuck on the home screen with the 'lock' in the middle. I've turned the phone on and off and did a hard re-set. If I delete the app can I re-install it from the app store and will I still have my passwords? Ugh.

  • Hi @cmvp1,

    Could you please tell us:

    • What version of iOS you currently have on the iPhone 6S?
    • Does the App Store show any updates available for 1Password?

I'm not entirely sure I understand what is happening on your screen from your description. If there is no sensitive data on the screen, would you be willing to post a screenshot?

If you delete 1Password that will also delete all of the data contained within it. This is not a problem if you have a recent backup or if you've been syncing, but is a big problem if you haven't.

    Thanks.

I'm using 9.1 and I updated 47 apps after the restore process was complete.

  • Thanks, @cmvp1. Do you have a recent backup of your 1Password data (from having followed these instructions) or have you been syncing your data?

The blue light in the middle fades in and out. I don't have a recent back up of the app other than when I backed up my phone to my iTunes before I did the restore.

I have an older version of 1Password on my macbook that no longer allows me to add or edit info. I can access the vault though. And no, I don't have a back up of the app on my iPhone. :(

Do I have an active license and if so, can I use it to access the expired 1Password on my macbook? If so, can that information be synced if I reinstall the app on my phone?

Good news. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It found a back up from icloud and I was able to log in and see all my entries.

  • @cmvp1,

We typically work from the oldest tickets to the newest. Replying to yourself without having received a reply from us will bump you back into the newest area, and delay our response to you.

Do I have an active license

I was not able to find any licenses for you, but we don't have the ability to look up purchases made through Apple.

can I use it to access the expired 1Password on my macbook? If so, can that information be synced if I reinstall the app on my phone?

Even without a license you can access the information in 1Password for Mac, you just cannot add any new or edit any existing information. You can sync the information on your Mac back to your iPhone after reinstalling 1Password for iOS.

    Thanks!

    Ben
