Traveling and not planning to update to iOS 9.0 for a month or so. Auto update brought 1Password, in my iTunes App libr, up to vs 6.0. Now I'm getting the "The app "1Password was not installed on the iPhone........, because it requires a newer version of iPhone software" Same situation for iPad. How can I get 1Password 5.5 reinstalled in my iTunes library. It appears as if the older version of 1PW is still function on the iOS devices) Thanks.

@jimedc: You can't. Not directly anyway. The only way to get an old version of an app is by having a copy and transferring it manually — either into iTunes by connecting your device and transferring purchases, or onto a device by syncing it from your iTunes library. I hope this helps!

@brenty. Thanks for responding. As I surmised, though! Was hoping there was a way to get older versions, 5,5 at least, which I could put back into my iTunes App library, in place of vs 6.0 (then prevent the vs 6.0 update until I install iOS 9). I update all my devices from itunes only.

  • Hi @jimedc,

Unfortunately, Apple has only optimized iOS and App Store to handle this properly and hasn't done so for iTunes. iOS is smart enough to not update you to any incompatible updates and will only do so when you update the iOS version. iTunes does not know all of your devices' iOS version and will only download the latest versions available, regardless of what you have.

Hopefully, you will have a better experience in a month once you update iOS and iTunes will stop nagging at you.
