Restored from backup and can't log back in

I downloaded 1PW for my iPhone 6+ a few months ago. I went out of the country a few weeks ago and had to backup then restore my phone to finish my unlock (AT&T) and use a foreign SIM card. After restoring I had to re-download all of my apps, including 1PW. I didn't ever sync my vault with my computer or anything; is my vault lost forever since 1PW was deleted from my phone? Are vaults automatically stored anywhere for recovery or is it the user's responsibility (for security purposes or what have you) to create a backup?

  • Hi @andolajusken,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. By default your 1Password data is stored only on the device it is created on. You can read about backing up and restoring here:
    https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/

That said, full iOS backups should also include your 1Password data. This has not always proven to be reliable, and is one of the reasons we have built a backup facility into 1Password, but if you restore an iOS backup from when 1Password was on your device it should restore it.

Please let me know how it turns out.

    Ben
