I'm afraid that if I go for a week or more without being forced to type my master password I'll forget it. I'm not kidding at all. With my current settings I only need to use TouchID. I could go for weeks without having to type the master password. I realize I could force myself to use Lock Now ... but ... ummm ... I'm lazy.

You could turn your machine off (not just sleep) or simply quit 1PW and then restart it. But any solution does require action by you,

  • Hi @msackett,

This can be addressed by adjusting the 1Password > Settings > Advanced > Security > Require Master Password timeout.

You can also write your Master Password down and store it someplace secure such as a safety deposit box.

    Thanks.

Wow ... I can't believe I missed this. Thank you!

  • It is intentionally slightly hidden, as for a lot of folks it was causing more confusion and frustration than anything. But we left it as a user settable preference just for cases such as this.

    Thanks!
