Hi @yiasouyiayia,
Thanks for taking the time to write in with this issue.
Could you please let me know what you mean by 'encrypted'? Are they concealed? If so you can turn off password concealing under
1Password > Settings > Security > Conceal Passwords [OFF]
.Thanks!

Thank you for the help but, yes, some are concealed and some aren't even when I turn passwords off. could I have some thing else turned off that shouldn't be?

there is nothing under security only under display... when i go to security the only things I see are lock on exit, auto -lock and touch ID
under display i see conceal passwords password font and show rich icons. if i turn off conceal passwords i get the dots then when i click on password it gives me the option to copy, reveal or large type..when i hit reveal it gives me all the letters, numbers and garble i use. OMG I must have a setting on somewhere.... :'( old ladies shouldn't try these things!0 -
Hi @yiasouyiayia,
It sounds like you may be running an older version of 1Password then, as the latest version has the setting I described. Can you please tell me which version you have? You can check in
1Password > Settings
(toward the bottom, just aboveAdvanced
).Thanks.

Hi @yiasouyiayia. I just wanted to clear up a couple of things. If a password is in 1Password, it's encrypted - meaning it is stored securely within 1Password on your device.
The dots you see in place of your passwords as there as a way to protect your secure information from being seen by other people if you happen to open and unlock 1Password in a public place. As you found, you can tap on a concealed password and see an option to reveal it, but if that step isn't one you want to take each time you look up your passwords you can change your settings to never conceal passwords.
Hope this helps!

Hi @yiasouyiayia,
That depends. :) We can help you make that determination if you can please send us a diagnostic report from your Mac:
https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html
Then attach the entire file to an email to us:
support+forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can quickly track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
