Feature Request: Integration With Third-party iOS Apps

While 1Password integrates well with Safari on iOS via the browser's "launch add-in" icon, it does not integrate with third-party apps. I know the company openly markets the free lines of code to any third-party app developer who is interested, but I have a better solution...
You should try to lobby Apple to allow all app developers the ability to access that same "launch add-in" console from any app start screen who chooses to code it. It could have the same icon (box with up arrow) and would access any compatible third-party app designed to work with it.
Of course, the down side is that it opens it up to 1Password competitor apps as well, but it would be a much more successful model of app integration than trying to "convert" the app developer world to code 1Password into their app as a dedicated add-in.

  • Hi @walchjc,

One of the decisions we made early on was that our app extension would not lock developers to 1Password. It also works with competing password managers. Apps only need to decide to support password managers, not 1Password specifically.

    Thank you for the feedback!
