I have a living will and trust and would like to assign a trustee to my account to manage my digital life after death. What do I need to do?

Hey @dotdora! It is good you are thinking about the future of your 1Password data. It is up to you on how you want to pass the information on. However, from a security standpoint, it is very important that we do not record your Master Password anywhere. As such, we would be unable to provide access to your account to anyone in such an event. For your case, I would recommend having a look at the 1Password Emergency Kit: http://productivityist.com/1password-emergency-kit-3/ It provides a great way to deal with this type of handoff.

Let us know if you have any questions about this. :)

woulödn't it be good to be able to have a second master password that could open my vault in the case of my death? That master password could be given to two persons (half the password each) and if it is used it turns on a flag that only the normal day to day master password can unflag.

That way I don't have to update my trustees every time I change my normal master password and I get a notification if my vault is opened when I'm still alive (for what ever reason)

It is an interesting idea, but not currently something that can be done (and frankly I'm not sure of the feasibility of it with the current architecture).

We don't normally recommend changing your Master Password unless there is reason to do so:

Thanks! We do appreciate the feedback and suggestions.
