I have Mack OS 10.7.5 and want to use an old version of 1Password on the Mac with the new version I have on the iPhone and iPad. Is that possible?

As I understand it, Yes the data format is the same and will work with that version of 1Password on Mac and iOS.

However be advised some items may only be viewable in the newer app. Things like custom fields will not be viewable in the older Mac version as it simply doesn't even know they exist. Those fields are only viewable and editable on the newer version like your iOS version.

Also the older version on the Mac will not be capable of iCloud syncing and will only be able to use Dropbox syncing.

  • Hi @sethap,

Hopefully thightower's answer above was helpful. :) If there is anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you. That's what I wanted to know before purchasing it for my older Mac running 10.7.5. I want to use the software to sync between the Mac, iPhone, and iPad but can't upgrade my OSX

Do you know if I can sync over wifi with this set up or just Dropbox?

    Thanks for the help!

  • Syncing via WiFi requires 1Password 4 for Mac, which requires OS X 10.8. 1Password 3 for Mac can only sync with more modern products via Dropbox.

    Thanks!

    Ben
