I think it would be a great enhancement being able to take a picture e.g. from a credit card or even an membership card and store it directly into 1Password for fututure (protected) access.

Many users, including some from AgileBits, have made this request. I'm sure your suggestion will be counted among the users who would find it useful. I also expect that feature will come eventually, although I have no insider information about future plans. I also know that AgileBits folks never say whether or when a feature may appear. That's company policy, to prevent disappointment when something promised can't, in the end, be delivered.
