Icons don't show in iPhone

I've installed the app on my iPhone and ipad. In ipad the icons show normally in the list view and as well when I select one login to view it's details.
On the iPhone the icons only show when a login is detailed. The icons that are supplied by 1password show normally in both views.
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, turn on off and on the "Show elaborated icons" option in the settings, reboot the phone, but nothing seems to work.

  • Hi @liaquila

I'm sorry to hear Rich Icons are not properly displaying on your iPhone. I'd like to ask you to please send us a diagnostic report so we can look into this further. Please see these instructions:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can quickly track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks!

See 'Stan' in my screen shot. Only a few don't show icons on the iPhone app. PushBullet is another.

Same here. What's the reason / solution?

Edit: But not this site above. Many other.

  • Hi @mrjamesmoore,

Thanks! It appears this is a login for this site?

    https://www.stan.com.au/

I'll talk with our folks who work on the image server and see why we don't have an image for them / why it isn't being pulled, along with PushBullet.

  • Hi, @mrjamesmoore and @2451.

1Password for Windows only uses tiny 16px favicons for items, which it can grab directly from the website. 1Password for Mac and iOS use larger icons, and so we've built our own repository of nearly 75,000 icons for different websites. Obviously, there are more than 75,000 sites on the Internet, so we don't have an icon for every site, but we try to cover the most popular ones.

In the past, we had an automated system that would attempt to find large icons for sites, but that has not been running for a while because of some issues, so at the moment, updating our icon repository is a manual process. If you have 1Password for Mac, you can add your own custom icon that will be synced to your other devices, though.

Ok, this is the reason. Everybody will not find every desired favor on - sure. Hope you will find an automatically controlled solution.
I'm a Windows and iPhone 6 Plus user. I love these big individual icons, which brings more structure and you'll find things faster. So go on.
But the problem is a little bit different. I see a standard icon in list view but in the single entry view there is a favicon. That's the disaffecting point.

Could you elaborate on this, @2451? Maybe post a screenshot? I'm not sure I understand yet.

I don't have 1P for Mac. Perhaps a way for users to submit icons/sites to you? It's only a few sites so nothing too much to worry about.

  • @mrjamesmoore We tried that, but it snowballs, and we don't currently have the resources to keep up with it manually. Eventually, we hope to have the automated system back up and running, but I don't have a timeframe on that. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this point.

So Rob here are 2 screenshots of the situation on my iPhone.

  • @2451 that is very strange. We definitely have all the necessary icons for them to show up in both places, so I'm not sure why the list item doesn't have one. Could you try turning off your rich icons in Settings > General and then turning the setting back on again?

I've done this - turn off -"/ on. No change.

Btw this behavior is shown with approximately 40% of all my entries.

  • Huh, I'm stumped. It's working fine for me if I create an item with that URL. If you create a new item with the same URL does it have the same problem, @2451?

No change. Neither with a new manual entry nor by duplication. Sorry.

  • Ok, thanks for the update, @2451. I'm using a newer internal beta of the app right now, so it may be that we've fixed it already and it will show up in the next stable update. In the meantime, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. :/

Have the same problems with Windows version and IPhone 6Plus
Is it possible to create own icons for Windows and IOS Platform?

  • Hi, @MasterHeinrich.

You can currently add custom icons only in 1Password for Mac, but those would sync to 1Password for iOS. 1Password for Windows icons are not customizable. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. :/

To make it clear in this manual it´s about own / self-selected icons. Not about the "Rich Icons" automatism.

    1. Starting in Windows 1PW in "List view" (all your entries).
    2. Find the entry your want to change to a self-selected icon.
    3. Click on "Edit- Mode" (the pencil icon).
    4. In the new pop up window you will see bottom left a "Add" button.
    5. If you click on it you can choose what you want to add. You choose "Icon".
    6. Now you can select any picture file on your computer.

    @Rob
Which is the max. size of an icon on a Windows machine? I have take previously max. 32 x 32 pixel size. Unfortunately they look very pixilated. I would like to use larger sizes.

  • @2451 - The maximum file size is 32K. 64 x 64 pixels should work OK.

    This problem is still active:
"Show rich icons" preferences are on. I can see them in single item view but in the listing I can only see standard icons. This behavior shows up at about 30% of all my entries. Seen under iOS 8 and 9 and all the last iOS 1Password apps updates. iPhone and iPad. Any progress here? Any solution?

  • Unfortunately I do not have an update on this at this time. We'll continue to investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience.
