Issue on adding a second vault on iOS?

I was trying to add a second vault in iOS (I have the Pro features). However, when I do it says choose the file and there's only one option, which is the already existing vault. Not sure what's going on?

Also, this is a bit of a side issue, but sometimes when I am signed into my account through like a chrome plug-in, I try to create a login, but it will automatically save into the primary vault. How can choose which vault the logins will save in?

1Password Version: Newest
Extension Version: Newest
OS Version: Newest
Sync Type: iCloud

  • Hi @mike2847,

Thanks for taking the time to write in with these questions.

You need to first create a secondary vault on 1Password for Mac or 1Password for Windows. Once you've created it in one of those products you'd sync it over to iOS via either Dropbox or WiFi sync. iCloud sync does not currently support multiple vaults.

Also, this is a bit of a side issue, but sometimes when I am signed into my account through like a chrome plug-in, I try to create a login, but it will automatically save into the primary vault. How can choose which vault the logins will save in?

Just to confirm: are we still talking about iOS here?

If so it doesn't appear the Chrome extension has the ability to save logins into 1Password? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding. Could you please elaborate?

    Thanks.

    Ben

I'm sorry about that. Yes, I did already create a second vault on 1Password for Mac and I'm trying to sync it up through Dropbox (realized I put iCloud by mistake!). But when I try to sync it up and click add another vault, there's only one option to choose from and it says this vault is already synced up. I can use both vaults on my Mac.

As for the second part, I actually meant for Mac, I'm trying to save log-ins to a secondary vault, but they automatically get put in the primary one. It becomes a bit inconvenient to the then export the login and then import it into my secondary vault. Sorry for the confusion!

  • Hi @mike2847

For the first issue I'd like to ask you to create some Diagnostics Reports, one from each of your devices.

    —Mac—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html

    —iOS—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you.

As for your question above saving a login in a chosen vault -- you can change which vault the extension is using by clicking on the vault icon in the upper left hand corner of the extension window.

    Thanks!

I have the same issues reported here. I would like to hear the resolution. Thanks.
I am running the latest software on MAC and IOS.

  • Hi @kenruss47,

We did not receive diagnostic reports from the OP, so unfortunately I don't know what the solution for them is / was. If you send us diagnostic reports as per the above instructions we'd be happy to take a look.

    Thanks!

I have been successful at creating and sharing multiple vaults. I changed to using dropbox and sharing my directors to my wife's account. That may of been to clue.
I do not have a method of sharing multiple vaults with iCloud.

    Help there would be appreciated.

  • @kenruss47,

iCloud does not currently support data sharing. Only Dropbox has this feature.

    Thanks.
