My iPhone and iPad do not accept my master password using iCloud Sync

I am running iCloud Sync on Notes, Calendars, etc and third party "Things" and "CalAlarm". Today is my one year anniversary of using 1Password (love it). I had same problem with previous OS X and iOS versions. I bought my 1Password from Apple. It finds my data of the existing vault, but the password that I use on my Mac does not work on the iOS devises.

Have you recently changed your master password on your Mac? If so, you'll need to log in first on your iOS devices using your old master password to allow the password change to sync. Once you've done that you should find you're able to log in to your iOS devices using your new master password.

If that's not the cause of the problem Please tell us:

I am using 1P 5.4 on Mac and 1P 6.0.1 on iOS. Thanks for your help. Frank

No, I have never sync'd data between my Mac and other devices.

  • Hey @AlphaUSA,

No, I have never sync'd data between my Mac and other devices.

Okay, that's good to know. Thank you for posting the version information as well. Did you happen to change your Master Password recently? Are you sure iCloud sync isn't enabled on your Mac? To check, open 1Password, click 1Password in the menu, select Sync, and check your vault to see if any service is tied to it.

I checked and it showed that my Mac was sync'd to iCloud. So running out of options, I un-sync'd if from iCloud. When I tried to re-sync it said my iCloud vault was one year old. So I deleted the iCloud vault and then re-sync'd my Mac to iCloud. NOW! My devices are able to sync with iCloud.

  • Excellent! Thanks for the update, @AlphaUSA. If there is anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to contact us.
