Just upgraded to new iPhone 6 / iOS 9.0.2 - restoring off iCloud backup doesn't show 1Password app

I was using the older 1Password 3 - 2011 - and now the newer version can't see the data file and I can't download the older app to get at my data file (assume is there still in iCloud backup). Old iPhone was stolen, so no way to get app off there.

Where to get the older iOS app to migrate the data?

  • Hi @ctelling,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. By default your 1Password data is only stored on the device it is created on. You can change this either by making backups and/or setting up syncing. On iOS removing an app removes all of the data contained within it, so one of these steps must be performed before the app is removed from the device, or you'll lose your data permanently.

We have heard some reports that restoring an iCloud / iTunes backup a second time will restore 1Password and its data, but this has not proven to be reliable, which is in part the reason we have included a backup utility within 1Password itself.

Please let us know how you make out.

    Thanks!

    Ben
