Most up to date passwords on iPad, how do I overwrite ones on iMac, when I sync

I have not been using 1password on my iMac for a while and as a result not been syncing. I have input a lot of passwords on my iPad version, and would like to sync now but want to ensure the ones on my iPad will overwrite the ones on my iMac. In the past I did set syncing on iMac to dropbox but never used it but would prefer to use the cloud in future.

1Password Version: 3.08.21
Extension Version: 3.9.21.b1
OS Version: OSX 10.10.4
Sync Type: dropbox

    Hi @KJER,

Sync will preserve data in both items. When it merges the two, if it can't determine if one piece of data needs to be overwritten, it will place both in a "Conflict" field. When it changes passwords it will put old ones in a "previously viewed passwords" section which you can see.

But to put your mind at ease, I suggest making a backup of your data on each of your iMac and iPad. You can to this in the Preferences->Backups on Mac, and in Settings->Backups on iOS. That way if something goes wrong, you can turn off sync, and restore from your backup.

To start sync, there are two documents here, for Mac and iOS:
    https://support.1password.com/guides/mac/sync.html?q=syncing
    https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/syncing

If you have any further questions, feel free to reply.

    Cheers,
    Kevin
