Editing still a drag in iOS

I'm still hoping to see a simpler, more stable, more useful editing process in iOS for 1Password. It is unfortunate that comfort features are still lacking and stability issues still exist.

For instance:
1) no ability to set a phone number field so you can enter a number and then call someone by tapping on the number in that field. You can email, but you still can't call or text.
2) fields still start you off with unwanted, unneeded text. For instance, creating a "Text" field fills the title of that field with the word "Text." You then have to erase that (with no "x" for easy deletion) and then first type your desired title. Why? Why is this so cumbersome? Why can't a new field start blank with your cursor positioned ready to type? Why does the field start with a capitalized "Text," but then start with lowercase after deleting that text? None of the formatting is consistent or pleasant.
3) you can't format the sections or fields for capitalization. To elaborate further on the prior point, why can't we set fields for with no caps, first word/first letter cap or first letter all words cap?
4) notes fields are hard to work with. If I have a lot of custom fields created, I have trouble even accessing or seeing the notes field. It's either partially hidden and won't scroll, or fully hidden with zero ability to see it or get into it for editing purposes.
4) rearranging the order of fields can go berserk. The fields slide around so quickly and out of control up and down, especially if you try to move them a fairly large distance. I've also noticed where information from one field that I'm moving appears as a duplicate of another field that it passed over. If you then delete what looks like a duplicate, you end up deleting the needed info from the field you just moved. Odd.

  • Hi @Macorin ,

Thanks for the feedback. I will address your concerns in the same order:

    1. A feature request has been submitted to our development team.
    2. We originally designed the field labels to do this on purpose as many customers don't wish to change them, they want to set the value text (which uses the grey placeholder text) and save right away. However, I can raise a request to use placeholders.
    3. This was a design decision to make the item section labels look consistent and easy to pick out amongst the item data.
    4. Can you elaborate on this a little more. We recently (last week) changed editing of notes to show in a full screen to avoid scrolling and sizing issues. Are your comments related to this after full screen editing has been added, or before?
    5. Regarding rearranging speed, I believe we're at the mercy of iOS here, but we can certainly look into it. And you should not be seeing duplicate fields - do you have steps to reliably reproduce this. This would be beneficial for us to diagnose and fix the issue.
