PDF viewing not possible after installing Clickmeeting app (iPhone & iPad)

I had a problem that I could not view the content of a PDF file stored in 1Password on my iPad Mini 2 Retina. In another item I told already that I recovered the iPad from scratch and that the problem was gone.
That was also the trigger for me to investigate the problem deeper so I recovered the iPad from a back-up containing the problem app.

Now I have found the interfering app "Clickmeeting 1.8.9" that causes the problem and I can reproduce it on my iPhone and my iPad.
When I open a PDF file within 1Password the following message is displayed: .PDF my pdf viewer ### KB.
When I remove Clickmeeting then I can see the content appears on the display.
I don't have to reload 1Password in this case.

Maybe it could also be a bug in 1Pwd IOS.

Can you examine this by debugging 1Pwd for IOS with Clickmeeting installed?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi,

I noticed other software having the same issue. Basically, it appears ClickMeeting is registering itself as a PDF viewer, and when 1Password asks iOS to display the PDF, iOS is asking ClickMeeting to display it, which in turn, is failing. I'm glad you have submitted the issue to ClickMeeting support, that way, if they can do something on their end (which it appears they will need to), they can.

I am still raising this issue with our development team so that we can look into it and see if we can work around it.

    Thank you for reporting this.

    Hi hayesk,

Thans for your answer. Now I understand the behavior of 1Pwd in this situation.

Today I've got the following message from clickmeeting:

    "Hello Willem,

    Thank you for contacting ClickMeeting.

Unfortunately, at this moment we could
not provide you with the solution to this
as it denotes the version of the mobile
    app we are having.

The new app will be released within next
two months which will completely resolve
    the problem.

Should you have any more questions,
please do not hesitate to ask.

    Best regards"

I will sent you my testresults after they release a new version.

Maybe you can download the current version in iTunes for experiments, because this version can reproduce this issue.

    Hi Ben,

I thought 1Password IOS should have exclusive use of the build in PDF viewer at the moment I want tot see the content of my PDF secret file and then I don't like to uninstall other App's first. So I think the is also a need to change the IOS 1Password app.

  • Willem,

I did file a bug with our development team to see if there is anything we can improve on our end in this regard.

    Thanks!

    Ben
