forgot vault password ( not master password ). Can it be reset? Thank you.
I'm trying to sync my account with iCloud. It prompts me for my vault password which I completely forgot. Not my master password which I remember and which I also tried but it's not my master password. Is there anything I can do to reset my vault password so I can sync my account with iCloud?
Thank you very much.
Best,
Marc M.

@zeteticman11: I'm not sure I understand the distinction you're making between a 'vault password' and 'Master Password'. The Master Password is the password you use to unlock the vault.
It isn't possible to reset a Master Password. It's not something that is stored. It's used to encrypt — and is therefore necessary to decrypt — your data. (Un)fortunately AgileBits has neither your 1Password data nor the Master Password used to secure it. However, please try the tips in this guide as they may help you gain access again:
https://support.1password.com/master-password-not-accepted/
If that doesn't help though, you will need to either restore from a backup, sync your data from another device (if you can access it elsewhere), or simply start over. Please let me know how it turns out. I look forward to hearing back from you!

Thanks for replying and trying to help me.
My master password, the password I use to log in, that works, that I know. But once I'm in my account and click on sync account using iCloud, I'm prompted for a 'vault' password. I've tried to input my master password for this vault password, but that
doesn't work. I don't even remember choosing a vault password when I opened the account way back when (I'm a pro member, if that makes any difference in terms of settings or access or whatever). Whatever it is, I've long forgotten it.

Good morning @zeteticman11. It sounds like the data in iCloud is no longer a valid version of your 1Password data. If that's the case then it's safe to clear that data out of iCloud, which should allow you to sync your most recent 1Password vault to iCloud instead.
Check out the directions here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios-kb/5/en/topic/deleting-1password-data-from-icloud-ios
Note, these steps will only clear out your 1Password data from iCloud - your local vault will not be touched.
Let me know how this works out and if there's anything else we can do to help.

MrRooni,
It worked!!
After erasing iCloud data and then sycnching it again, I'm not even prompted for a "vault" password; it just goes ahead and synchs it!!
Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help.
