browser extension on iPad not working

I'm running 1Password on both my iPhone 5s and my iPad Air (both IOS 9.1) . Settings are not to close 1Password on exit and to lock it after 10 minutes. On iPhone I also have touch ID enabled. 1Password version is the latest BTW. In the main app, everything is working as expected. It's the browser extension on iPad that's not working as expected I think. It requests the password every time I try to login to a site. Even when I first unlock the main app, the extension asks for the vault password every single time. On iPhone, it's working as expected and the extension does not re-require touch ID every time. I've tried restarting (soft and hard) the iPad, force closing the main app, disabling and re-enabling the extension, even deleting and reinstalling the app. Any ideas ?

1Password Version: 6.02
Extension Version: dont know
OS Version: IOS 9.1
Sync Type: iCloud

Would add that when I unlock from the browser - there are no options to choose which fields to fill. It just unlocks .....

  • Hi @JohnHolliday,

The Safari extension will only offer up login items that have a URL matching the URL of the page you are currently viewing.

even deleting and reinstalling the app.

Interesting. What is the model # of the iPad that is having this difficulty? I'll see if we have a test device of the same model that we can try reproducing this on.

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

  • Good morning, @JohnHolliday. Thanks for taking the time to write in. Do you have a PIN code set within 1Password on your iPad? If not, 1Password will not be able to automatically unlock the extension, regardless of the timeouts you set within the main app.

  • @JohnHolliday, I just took a look at your diagnostic report and you do indeed have a PIN code set on your iPad. Do me a favor and toggle the PIN code off and then on again. Once you've reset your PIN code, hop over to Safari and bring up the Extension and let me know what happens.
