I updated to the most recent 1password update and it kept crashing just after entering my password. (I sent report)

I deleted the app and installed from iCloud. After opening the reinstalled version I tried to sync from icloud but it is not accepting my password.

This is extremely frustrating because i need my passwords to get my work done...

Please help ASAP

  • Hi @Hughesy1985,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. Do you have your 1Password data on any other devices? Or did you create a backup of your 1Password data prior to deleting 1Password?

    Please let us know.

    Ben

As far as i am aware it is all stored on iCloud, I have restored my entire phone over iCloud many times before without any issues to 1Password.

When trying to fix this problem yesterday i reset my iPhone and restored from iCloud. When i opened 1Password it just went to the locked screen and the blue circle around the key lock was flashing grey and blue. It did not give me an option to enter a password.

I am currently resetting and restoring a second time. Hopefully it works this time!

Any ideas if not? I am really struggling without any of my passwords..

I see that this is a known issue with iOS 9. I have the latest 9.1 installed at the moment..

Restored my phone for a second time and also updated the app (I presume this is the working update...) and the app still does not work! It opens to the key lock screen and just sits there with the blue ring flashing grey and blue. There is no option to enter a password.

I run a home business and have so far lost nearly 2 days of productivity due to this recent update issue!
I understand that problems happen, 1Password also need to understand that people rely on their software every day. I can't do anything without my passwords.

I have 2 options going forward from here. 1. Never use 1Password again. 2. Install 1Password on my Mac also

After this experience I don't really feel like paying a large amount of money for another 1Password app.

Will you offer me a free version of 1Password for Mac?

  • Hi @Hughesy1985,

We do offer a fully functional 30 day free trial of 1Password on our website which may help you in the mean time:

    https://agilebits.com/downloads

We have heard of a few reports of difficulty with the 6.1 update. It appears when some folks updated they did not actually get the full 6.1 update. In some cases opening the App Store > Updates tab will show an update available for 1Password (v6.1) an installing this update will resolve the issue. For folks who do not have this option available we've reached out to Apple and are working with them on resolving the issue.

    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

    Ben

P.S. Please be sure you're making regular backups of your data! https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/

No this has not worked for me at all! I think this is the worst experience i have ever had with my apple device. I am considering writing a complaint directly to Apple about this.

I did download the free trial and I still couldn't retrieve my passwords. What i am saying is, if i have 1Password on my Mac then next time this happens i won't be left without my passwords.

This is 3 days now without passwords... Will you offer me the full version for free?

You guys are hopeless. I have had only 2 measly responses over 3 days of communication. You don't even want to help us. Clearly Agilebits has no idea about customer service

Im done with 1Password and I will be passing on my review of this experience everywhere I can.

All I have requested is a free OSX version for the inconvenience and you can't even rustle up a response...
