Lost iPad and Dropbox syncing?

I lost an ipad that syncs with dropbox. I reset the dropbox login password as suggested. However the devices(computer and iPhone) are all still syncing with the dropbox account? I would have thought that changing the dropbox password would require it to be updated on all 1Password devices to get access to the 1Password/dropbox account and passwords?

  1. Is there a way to update dropbox so that passwords and access are no longer available on the lost ipad?
  2. Are the passwords stored locally on every device so that even if dropbox is secured with a new password, prior passwords before the sync are still available?

    Changing the password will stop new logins, but since the iPad was authorized already, you'll need to de-authorize the iPad a different way:

    1. log in on dropbox.com with a web browser
    2. go to Settings (in the popup menu beside your name in the upper right corner), and click the Security tab.
    3. There you can de-authorize devices and applications by clicking the x beside each one. To be safe, de-authorize the iPad and 1Password.

    1Password on your iPhone will likely ask you to authorize again. Go ahead and do that when it asks.

    Hi Kevin,

    Thanks for the response. When I am in dropbox Settings | Security | Devices, it only shows my computer. The ipad and iphone are not listed under devices? However they both have access to 1Password and all sync. 1Password does show under Settings | Security | Apps Linked. Any ideas on why the ipad and iphone are not showing? Should I still do something to block the lost ipad access?

    Hi @john12pm,

    Is it possible that you have more than one Dropbox account? If so, that would explain why you aren't seeing either of you mobile devices in the security settings in Dropbox. You can check by looking at the email address associated with the Dropbox account on your iPhone and comparing it to the email address in your Dropbox account on your Mac.

    No, there is just one Dropbox account in which 1Password syncs to. Any further assistance on this?

    Hi @john12pm,

    Unfortunately, at this point I think you will have to contact Dropbox to figure out why your devices are not appearing in the list because I am out of ideas. Here is a link detailing how to contact Dropbox.
