Apologies if this has been covered somewhere else in the forums,

I'm trying to find a way to upload pictures into a 1Password login item, I know I can attach files from 1Password for Mac - but is this process reverse compatible.

I'm in the situation where I'd like to take a picture of a something from iPad, iPhone and upload to 1Password is this currently possible?

Kyler

@kylerphillips - At this time, the process for attaching files, including images, is not possible directly on the iOS application. You'll need to add them from one of the desktop applications and then sync them to IOS, where you will be able to view them. But you already know that works. Your question about this is frequently asked, and many other users have requested that this ability be added to the iOS application, AgileBits folks have said they are considering this, and several of them have agreed elsewhere in the forum that this would be a useful addition. I'm sure your post will be counted as another vote in favor of bringing this to 1Passwrod for iOS.

There isn't any news, though, about when, or even if, this feature will arrive.

@kylerphillips: Indeed, adding attachments in 1Password for iOS is a feature we'd like to have ourselves! I do hope that we'll be able to add this in the future. Thanks for your interest! :)

Adding attachments is, I think, one of the more popular feature requests. I'm curious why it doesn't seem to be happening. Is it technically problematic, is there a security concern, or is it something else? It seems like a pretty easy feature to add.

  • The short answer is:

    Is it technically problematic

    Yes.

I don't know all the details of exactly why, but this is the primary reason we have not been able to make this a priority. We do continue to flag it as a top request, so it certainly isn't being ignored.

    Thanks!

    Ben
