Suggestion - allow a pick list for login IDs

When creating a new login using 1Password it would be very helpful if you could pick from a list of email addresses or commonly used IDs. It is painful to have to always fill in the same email address, especially on a Smartphone where one has to toggle onto different keyboards for symbols. Is it possible to add this to future versions?

  • Hi @wayner,

The identities category can store username & email address information (along with other information commonly required when creating a new account) that can be filled in just like a login item would. Perhaps that would help in this case?

I do have Identities set up for a Work and a Home profile but how do I then automatically populate the email from one of those identities into the Username field when creating a New Login?

Here's what I am doing - Go to Categories - Logins. Click the + Button in the top right. Put "Test" under Login name and press the right arrow (or press the '+Create Login for "Test"'. It now wants a Username or email. Are you saying I can quickly populate the Username or email field with data from an Identity? How do I do that?

    FYI I am using 1Password version 6.1.1(611003) on an iPhone6+ running iOS9.1

Using this method you can't, no. But if you create the login using the Safari extension you can first fill the identity, fill in any additional fields (such as the password), then capture the login.

Most of my passwords are entered manually on the phone as the actual login is created on my work Windows PC. It doesn't have a 1Password license - would it help if I did? But even then I may have an issue as we don't allow work PCs to have access to cloud services like Dropbox as it is a security risk.

  • Hi @wayner ,

Thanks for the feedback and feature request. I'll take your post and send it on to the development team.
