1Password vault discrepancies

I'm running 1Password on my MacBook, Windows 10 PC and on my Mac there are 252 items, whereas on my PC there are only 211 items, so it would appear that the synching isn't working correctly. However, I did add a login item from my PC and it appeared on my Mac shortly after; I also edited an item on my PC and the change appeared almost immediately. But there are still a large number of items in my Mac copy of 1Password 5.4 compared with 1Password 4.6 on my PC.

How can I sort this out?

I actually ended up backing up the 1Password vaults on both my Mac and PC, then I disabled/removed the Dropbox storage option within the 1Password Mac, then re-enabled it and that fixed my issue. The info from @Stephen_C pointed me in that direction though the info didn't specifically mention the fix I used.
