Need to restore 1Password on my new iPhone 6

I recently switched out my old IPhone 6 for a new one. Although I did saved my data and apps to the cloud and then did a restore on the new phone it did not pull my 1 password over to the new phone. Now I am not able to get my important saved info because it says that no 1 password data was found on the ICloud. I did not have my prior 6 synced with other devices. Is there a way to recover this information from your own cloud versions. I would be happy to purchase the Pro version if I can get my old information back.

Thank you!

    Hi @sibayles,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. AgileBits does not store your 1Password data, and as such we have no way of giving it to you. By default this data is stored only on the device you create it on. If you lose access to that device without first syncing your data or backing it up (following our backup instructions) then you've lost the data with it.

Unfortunately the built-in iOS iTunes/iCloud backups have proven unreliable when it comes to backing up and restoring 1Password data. We have, strangely enough, heard some reports that restoring the iOS backup a second time will restore missing app data (including 1Password's). Again, this has not proven to be a reliable method unfortunately, which is why we've included our own backup option within the app.

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the response Ben, I wish I had purchased the backup option had I known more about how data was saved or not saved in this case.

  • You're very welcome. I'm sorry I don't have more encouraging news. For clarity's sake: no purchase is necessary to make backups. Backing up and restoring (as well as syncing) are included at no additional cost.
