Hotkey to Open 1Password
I would propose using the hotkey to open up 1password mini as the hotkey to "Open 1Password" under the settings cog. Actually getting to the editor is far more useful than just viewing gate mini which is merely a mouse click away.

I will record your interest in seeing this and we will keep the thread open to see who else agrees. I personally would disagree but that is just my personal point of view and will not effect the decision. My thoughts are that the 1Password mini is accessed far more often than the main window. Now it could very well turn out that the majority agree with you and my viewpoint isn't widespread. That's one of the things I love about the public forums, it allows others to see your post and jump in with their view :smile:
Due to the number of icons in my menu bar I actually don't have the 1Password icon up there as I have always used the keyboard shortcuts for accessing it. Just a different style though :smile:

You can define the shortcuts for 1Password in Preferences > General. ;)
Personally, I'm with Little Bobby, I love having the keyboard shortcut access mini. In fact, I rarely even bother opening the main app anymore. Particularly with edit capabilities in mini, I can do almost everything I need without needing the main app. But it's always fascinating to learn how people use 1Password, so we really appreciate your suggestion!

Thanks Megan. I did try that but it will not override the preset in the app.
Maybe I'm not using the app to the fullest them. I mostly access the editor because I need to fin a password, copy and paste it into an area 1password doesn't work in. Are you able to do that without launching the editor?

@eblanchard assuming you're using 1P4 or 1P5 try this:
- Use the ⌥⌘\ shortcut to open 1P mini.
- Start typing the name of the item you want (the focus is already on the search box).
- Right arrow key to display the entry.
- ⌘⇧C to copy the password of the selected item.
- ⌘V to paste the password in your app.
It's rather quicker to do than to explain, once you get used to it.

@eblanchard: Haha Stephen_C is exactly right! That does seem like a lot of steps, but once you do it a few times it'll become second nature to you, and I think you'll be surprised at how much it speeds things up. Cheers! :)
