1Password Troubleshooting.zip file Diagnostic report (just pin wheels) not working etc..
I have followed the advise and went to up grade from 1 password 3 to 5 (because) I was having issue with the app working with OS X El Capitan update.
And we I downloaded the 1 password 5 , I saw that you need to take certain steps before you can go from 1 password 3 to 5, so I followed these...(mainly try saving a web based login) via the min app..and see if it is saved in the main app....which it was NOT doing.
So I downed loaded the 1Password Troubleshooting.zip and tried to run the Diagnostic report (but it just pin wheels) as in its trying but nothing is happening....I left it for 2 hours...no change, so I deleted that zip file and shut down the computer, restated, and downloaded it )1Password Troubleshooting.zip) again, tried running the Diagnostic report (same result)
So the the basically this is follow chart of events and current outcomes...
A. 1 password 3 wasn't working the latest... OS X El Capitan update (its keeps crashing)
B. So I was advised to update to 1 password 5 (which I did)
C. The I had to take steps to ensure that 1 password 3 was saving a website login into the MAIN 1 password 3 (which it wasn't)
D. So then I was advised to get 1Password Troubleshooting.zip (which I did) and run the Diagnostic report (except it doesn't work) ?
Kind of feeling like I should have never updated anything.
Please advise me what I need to do to get my data from 1 password 3 to 1 password 5 safely and quickly?
Cheers
David

Hi David ( @thebigd1962 ),
I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having trouble getting 1Password updated, and that the troubleshooting tool isn't being much help.
Just to confirm, were you running the report for 1Password 3 that's available here? It's important that you get the correct report for the operating system that you're using.

Hi Megan
Thanks for getting back to me, I retried saving a login, and it work, so I installed 1 password 5, and all now seems good, just a question I still have 1 password 3 (the man app) in my applications file, I take, that is safer to now delete that version....is that correct?
Cheers

Hi @thebigd1962,
That's great news, I'm glad that worked out well for you!
To answer your question: Yes, as long as you have all your data in 1Password 5 now, you can delete the 1Password 3 app. All you need to do is drag the 1Password 3 app file to the Trash (don't use any app cleaning utilities, as they might accidentally delete your 1Password 5 data).
If you have more questions or need anything else, please let us know. :)
