Consistent vault names across devices?

In my Dropbox folder I have two vaults, "Work" and "Default", Default is basically my home/personal vault.

On the PC client it uses the vault names that I've designated but on my iOS devices it substitutes one of my vault names for "Primary".

PC
Default
Work

iPhone
Primary
Work

iPad
Primary
Default

It does make me pause when I open my vaults as I have to think what device i'm using and what is the Primary vault. Is there anyway to make the iOS app use the name of the vault instead of "Primary"?

Thanks

  • Hi @reck,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. Unfortunately this is a known issue with OPVault vaults created in 1Password for Windows. 1Password for Windows simply uses the file name as the vault name, but our iOS and Mac applications store the name of the vault upon creation in a file within the vault. 1Password for Windows currently sets this value to "default" for every vault created.

Our developers are aware of the discrepency and are discussing how to best move forward. At present the only way to work around this would be to re-create your vaults using a Mac, or switch to Agile Keychain instead of OPVault... Neither of which is something I'd suggest. Hopefully our development teams can address this in a future update.

    Thanks!

How can I tell which vault format i'm using? Looking in Dropbox the folder that contains my vault ends in .agilekeychain so doesn't this suggest i'm already using this format rather than OPVault? If Agile Keychain allows you name your vault can I convert over to this format if it turns out i'm using OPVault?

  • @reck,

Interesting. If the file name ends in agilekeychain that would suggest that you are using the Agile Keychain file format. Just to be sure though I'd like to ask you to create some Diagnostics Reports, one from each of your devices.

    —iOS—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

    —Windows—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/win.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!
