PDF saved in Secure Notes missing data when viewed on iOS devices

I have saved an interactive PDF form in Secure Notes in the OS X version of 1Password after entering information in a number of fields. I am able to view the form and all the data I entered on my laptop, but that entered data does not show in my iOS devices. The document syncs to my iOS devices, but when I open them only the preprinted text is visible.

I'm using a late 2013 15" Retina MacBook Pro running OS X 10.11.1; an iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2, both running iOS 9.1. All 1Password versions are the latest available.

Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.

Lew

  • Hi @Lew,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. I suspect this may be a limitation of the PDF viewer on iOS itself... If you email this document to yourself and open it in Mail on iOS does it display the filled in information?

    Please let me know.

    Hi Ben,

Your suspicion is correct. The emailed PDF is also missing the entered data.

FYI, I copied the file to PDFpen on my iPad and it appeared as it should when I opened it. They're obviously using their own viewer. Is that anything 1Password could implement?

    Thanks for your response...

  • @Lew,

When you open the attachment you'll see a share button in the top right hand corner of the screen. If you click on this you may be able to send the file to PDFpen, assuming they support that. You may have to go into the list under the "More" button to enable it if it doesn't appear.

    Hi Ben,

That's what I did to get the document into PDFpen. It's an easy workaround to view the document, but it appears there's no way to share a revised document back to 1Password. Any suggestion on how that could be done?

  • Ah. Unfortunately it can't. 1Password for iOS cannot currently make modifications to or add new attachments. That is a very common feature request, but unfortunately at the moment I don't have any news to share.
