    @jlangenbahn I answered a very similar question here the other day on the 1Password for Mac forum so you may find some of those views relevant.

    In essence, if you're happy with your Mac backups you may feel you don't need specific 1P for iOS backups. That's certainly the view I take (I use wifi sync, but that doesn't affect the principle).

    Edit: There will, of course, be those who say you can never have too many backups. ;)

    Sync is not a backup. It doesn't prevent data loss in the event a record is accidentally edited or deleted. It doesn't protect against data corruption, and is subject to sync conflicts etc. It does mean your data is stored on more than just your one device, so in a way it does increase data availability. But it isn't a backup.

    That said, I don't personally make manual backups from iOS. I sync with 1Password for Mac, and that takes snapshots periodically. I consider that "good enough for me."
