Maybe a bug of one time password
First, excuse my poor English.
I used 1Password on iOS(iPhone) and Windows( both are the latest version) . I've found one time password of my Microsoft account on my iOS device isn't the same with it on my Windows desktop. After checking , I found when the secret (xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx) and(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) are filled in the 1Password for Windows, both are correct. But it was different when I synced the data from Windows to iOS, (xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx) is correct while (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) is wrong.
Microsoft's hint is don't care about spacing, so after I copied the secret(xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx) to 1Password for Windows and synced to iOS, I found the problem above. Is this a bug?
1Password Version: 6.1.2
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Windows 10 Pro
Sync Type: WiFi

Hi @stechen,
Thanks for taking the time to write in. When you say "secret" are you referring to the string that gets saved into 1Password and is used to generate the "codes" that you use to login (the actual OTP / One Time Passwords) or the codes themselves? Which area are you seeing the discrepency in spaces with -- the secret or the codes?
Please let me know.

Hi All,
I think, I've the same problem.
I created a Login for Microsoft, with two step verification (one-Time password) on my PC (Windows 10) with a registred version of 1password (4.6.0.592). I sync this to my iPad (registred 6.1.2). But the counters where different, not only time shifted. Both devices are in the same time-zone. The time is also the same.
The output from iPad is wrong, the windows10 counter works fine.
I don't find a solution for this problem in knowledge base. Please help me.
Thanx and regards

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Could you please tell me if when you edit the item in question are there any spaces in the OTP secret?

Hi bwoodruff,
yes, I just do it again. The secret shown was like this: t6ey whgh 4dss y4qa
The same issue. After sync to iPad, there is an other counter to be seen.

Hi Ben,
now it works.
I've deleted the spaces in the secrets. In the password-field, there where no spaces, only the symbols "%20" instead of spaces, but I deleted them.
The counter from iPad is now only 10s behind my Windows10 counter, but then, they are the same.
For both accounts it is the same (Dropbox and Onedrive).
Fine, I'm happy.
Thank you and kind regards

Great! Thanks for the update, @norbert_gruen. "%20" is the encoded version of spaces for URLs, so that makes sense. The secret should not have any spaces in it.
Glad to hear it works now. :)
