Click on preferences menu and the app crashes. Rebooted, deleted, downloaded most recent version and reinstalled. No change. Using icloud sync. Including the crash dump.

    Hi @CCZ,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble.

You mentioned that you are syncing with iCloud, but iCloud is only available in the version of 1Password from the Mac App Store. According to the crash report, you are using the version of 1Password from our website. Can you check to see if you have two (or more?) copies of 1Password installed?

If you can forego iCloud syncing (as you already appear to be doing since you are using the version of 1Password from our website), I suspect the latest beta build may resolve things for you. Would you be willing to give it a try?

Click "Enable betas" on the downloads page and then download the latest beta version of 1Password for Mac.

    Enable betas

Does the latest beta resolve the issue for you? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

Ok, I downloaded the beta and it doesn't crash anymore. I might not understand icloud syncing on the mac. 1Passwoed on my IOS devices is set to iCloud sync. On my mac I have my .agilekeychain file in the root of my iCloud drive. See attached image. I haven't changed this setting since the installing the beta, this is how it was setup before when it was crashing.

@CCZ: Indeed, sorry for the confusion! To be clear, this crash was introduced in El Capitan, but the latest beta of 1Password for Mac contains a workaround for the issue. This allows you to put the vault in your iCloud Drive folder.

However, this will only allow you to sync your data between computers. iCloud Sync (which 1Password for iOS needs) only works with the Mac App Store version of 1Password. So in your case you'll need to use Dropbox Sync instead, since it is not restricted to Apple's App Stores.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions! :)
