I cannot access my login panel in the free version of 1Password for iOS that comes with the full Mac version at no extra cost. Am I not using it correctly or do I need to purchase the Pro version for iOS and will doing so allow me to access my logins and add new ones?

1Password Version: iPassword 5
Extension Version: 5.4.1
OS Version: iOS 9.2
Sync Type: Dropbox
Referrer: forum-search:I can't see my logins in the free ios version. Can I see them and add new logins in the pro version

    @awerneke:

I cannot access my login panel in the free version of 1Password for iOS that comes with the full Mac version at no extra cost.

The first point to make is that there is no "free version of 1Password for iOS that comes with the full Mac version at no extra cost". 1P for iOS is a free download from the App Store accessed from your iOS device—with an in-app purchase to enable pro features. If you make that in-app purchase on one iOS device you can enable the pro features without charge on any other iOS device that uses the same Apple ID. However, you do have to download and install the app in order to be able to use it, of course.

I don't understand what you mean when you say:

I cannot access my login panel

Would you mind explaining exactly what you mean by that? Do you mean 1P for iOS doesn't allow you to enter your master password? Or do you mean that once you've entered your master password you can't see your logins?

I think it would also be very helpful if you would please tell us exactly what version of 1Password for iOS you are using (the link will tell you how to find that information).

Refer to the licensing page: https://agilebits.com/store/licenses

It will help you understand how the licenses work. Each version of 1Password is developed per platform.

@awerneke: To be clear, 1Password is completely separate on each platform. You don't log into 1Password. So when you setup 1Password for iOS, you're creating a new vault, unless you sync an existing vault from another device you own. As mentioned, 1Password for iOS is a free app, but the in-app purchase for Pro Features is a separate purchase from 1Password for Mac. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)

OK. Thanks for your help. I have the free version for iOS and there is no separate vault. I sync with the vault on my computers. I have only one vault. My iOS version is 6.1.2. I can login into 1Password but cannot access my logins so unless the login autofills when 1P is open I cannot update a login on the iPad. I have to go to my computer to open 1P and see what the login is. So am I having a user problem or do I need to purchase 1P Pro for iOS to access my logins in my synced vault when using my iPad? I don't mind purchasing but do want to be able to see or update a login if I need to. Thanks!

Additionally, today when logging into 1P for iOS, I was given the option to use Touch ID. I presumably set it up with the help of Apple support but when I went to login later, the Touch ID option did not work for me. Is this something you folks can advise me about? Thanks!

  • Hi @awerneke,

I'd like to ask you to create some Diagnostics Reports, one from each of your devices.

    —Mac—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html

    —iOS—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Attach the Diagnostics Reports to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Reports in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Reports in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the reports and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the reports we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben
