syncing from Mac Air to Iphone6
using dropbox; Password1 works fine on Mac Air computer. I synced it according to instructions to my iphone 6. When I try to log onto the Password files, there are a whole bunch of files, but they are all in code or gibberish; I understand I cannot use icloud since my son did not purchase this program through Apple Store
1Password Version: 5
Extension Version: 5.4.1
OS Version: 101.1.2
Sync Type: dropbox

Hi @smanes,
Thanks for reaching out to us here in the support forum. We'll be happy to help you sort this out. I just need a bit more information from you in order to understand the problem first.
When I try to log onto the Password files, there are a whole bunch of files, but they are all in code or gibberish
Can you please explain in detail the steps you are taking to "try to log onto the password files," and what you are trying to do?
- Do you have the 1Password app installed on your iPhone?
- Are you able to unlock 1Password with your Master Password?
- If so, are you able to see your login items there, and do they look normal?
Have you had a chance to peruse the User Guide for 1Password for iOS? It's a great way to get things set up and familiarize yourself with how the app works. I know the interface is a bit different on iOS if you're used to using it on Mac, so it may just be a matter of learning what's where.
I look forward to your response. I think we'll be able to get you up and running in no time. :)

Hi Vee, How do I install 1Password onto my iPhone if it is already on my computer? Yes, I can unlock my Master Password. Login items look normal

@smanes the first thing to make clear is that 1P for Mac and 1P for iOS are completely separate products. In other words, if you need 1P for iOS you have to download and install it.
1P for iOS is a free download from the App Store accessed from your iOS device—with an in-app purchase to enable pro features. If you make that in-app purchase on one iOS device you can enable the pro features without charge on any other iOS device that uses the same Apple ID.
Once you download and install 1P for iOS this excerpt from the user guide will help you to set up Dropbox sync:

@smanes: Indeed, 1Password for Mac will not run on an iPhone or iPad, so you'll need to install 1Password for iOS there. As Stephen_C mentioned, you can use Dropbox to sync data between all versions of 1Password. Just make sure you setup Dropbox Sync in 1Password on each device. Let me know if you have any questions! :)
