@gadelsperger: Sorry for the trouble! You may be able to simply restart the device or re-set Touch ID (turn it off and then back on) to get it working, but there are a few other tips that you can try to get it working. Just follow these steps:

    1. Go to 1Password Settings > Security and disable Touch ID
    2. Go to iOS Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
    3. Enter the device passcode
    4. Disable the "Use Touch ID for" settings
    5. Hold the Sleep/Wake button and "slide to power off"
    6. Hold the Sleep/Wake button to power the device back on
    7. Unlock it with the device passcode
    8. Go to iOS Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
    9. Enter your device passcode
    10. Enable the "Use Touch ID for" settings
    11. Go to 1Password Settings > Security and enable Touch ID

Please let me know how it turns out. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

I too have this problem and the solution mentioned here did not solve my problem.

Under the latest version of iOS (9.2.1), there is no "Use Touch ID for" setting. Nor was this setting present in version 9.2.

I have disabled all options under iOS Touch ID and 1Password. Restarted the device and re-enabled to no avail. App continues to prompt for password....

  • Hi @skineedog,

They are definitely there on my device:

Are you sure you're looking in the place Brenty described (in the iOS Settings app, not in 1Password)? If so, could you please post a screenshot of what you see at that location?

    Thanks.

    Ben

Absolutely certain I'm looking in the correct location. I may have misunderstood the original instructions and was looking for a setting that was application specific under iOS' settings. I disabled all available options under "Use Touch ID for:" as well as in the app itself, restarted and re-enabled settings and am still prompted for the password. Even after entering it, locking the app, I do not have the option for using Touch ID.

I am using an IPhone 6+. Touch ID was there before, not sure when it disappeared. It's been gone a while now. Just decided to look into it today.

  • Thanks, @skineedog. I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your iOS device:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben
