Syncing secondary vaults in iOS 9 devices

I haven't been able to sync multiple vaults in iOS 9 on my iPhone. The vaults are in the same 1Password folder in Dropbox. The primary vault works, nothing else.

I am using 1Password 6.1.2

@wkleem I assume you've seen the sticky at the top of the forum, and that doesn't help?

No, I haven't. Thanks. I see it now that you mention it but I barely see things on the iPhone 5s screen which was what I posted from. The page load time and time to post a discussion is also horrendous, currently, using the iPhone 5s.

@wkleem: Sorry for the trouble! We've got a fix for these sync issues in beta currently, and we'll release it publicly once testing is complete.

Thanks. My vault was from a zip archive appended with a (1). How well does 1Password handle folder / file names with non alphanumeric characters?

  • @wkleem I have not seen them handled improperly, especially because that's how backups for 1Password for Mac are stored (1Password 2015-12-19 14_33_12 (1 profiles, 2 items, 0 folders, 0 attachments).1p4_zip for example). :)

Thanks @penderworth. It should not be an issue then!

I'm still having issues with multiple vaults. Where should the secondary vaults be located? My primary vault is syncing fine but 1Password 6.2 via Dropbox is still unable to locate the subsequent vaults.

  • Hi @wkleem,

I'm sorry but I'm not sure I understand the question. If you are having trouble syncing a secondary vault to iOS please send us a diagnostic report from each the iOS device that is having trouble and a computer where it is working:

    —Mac—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html

    —iOS—
    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html

Attach the Diagnostics Reports to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Reports in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Reports in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the reports and ensure that this is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the reports we should be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Ben

I'll do that as soon as I set up Mail on the devices. Thanks.

  • Great. :)

FYI, My Mac hardware is failing and I am undecided as to whether I should replace it. I was hoping that 1Password 6 iOS would be able to independently sync a secondary vault without the desktop versions. I might, however, be mistaken.

@wkleem: While 1Password for iOS cannot create new vaults (apart from when you set it up for the first time), any existing vaults you have in Dropbox will continue syncing completely independent of 1Password for Mac (or Windows). :)

Hi, I wasn't attempting to create a new vault but to attempt to make an old 1Password 2 or 3 for MAC .AgileKeychain a secondary vault.

    No such luck.

@wkleem: I'm not sure I understand. Are you not able to sync the old vault for some reason?

@brenty, Not as a secondary vault. 1Password sees the primary vault and nothing else. The vaults reside in the 1Password Folder in Dropbox. I am conversing with Greig Allen but it had been a few days since his last email.

    Thanks.

@wkleem: Ah thanks for clarifying. It looks like Grieg replied just within the last 24 hours, so we can continue the conversation there. But if for some reason you're not seeing his reply be sure to let me know!

I have the same issue. My primary vault syncs fine, but the secondary vault I created, and is stored in my 1password folder in Dropbox (same as my primary vault) does not appear in my list of vaults on other computers. It only appears on the computer from which I originally created the secondary vault.

  • Hi @ming21,

Each vault needs to be set up to sync. Please try following these instructions to sync your secondary vault from Dropbox:

    Vaults | 1Password for iOS

Please do note that syncing multiple vaults does require the Pro features in-app purchase.

    Thanks!

    Ben
