Exclude specific symbols when using auto-generating passwords?

Hi AgileBits,

Is there a way to exclude or limit the list of specific special characters used in auto-generating passwords on a per login basis?

Some sites don't allow characters like <>[]{} in passwords while another only allows "numeric symbols" which are the Shifted symbols above the numbers on a keyboaed like !@#$%^&*()-+

Can this currently be done with 1Password on iOS or a Mac? If not, can this feature be added in a future release?

That is two options:
• List specific symbols to exclude in passwords.
• List specific symbols to include in passwords.

Thanks & Happy New Year!
Steven

  • Hi Steven ( @Gospel ),

This is not currently possible, but is something I can pass along to our development team for their future consideration. :)

    Thanks!

I've also been burned by this - when creating a new password on the social security website they require the first character to be a letter or a number.

  • Thanks for the feedback @Gospel and @MickM, we really appreciate you taking the time to write in. We have some ideas in mind to improve the way 1Password generates passwords for specific sites. I will be sure to add your votes to this particular issue in our bug database.
