touch id doesn't work iphone 6s

Have a new iPhone 6S and Touch ID doesn't work for 1P. I have it enabled, I understand this part, the instructions are clear. I see the little thumb icon and put my registered thumb on it and it doesn't work. Instead a white modal pops up and says, "Touch ID for "1Password" Unlock 1Password" with the option to Cancel. Only option to do is cancel and so that loop UX repeats. Again, the 1P gate never opens, all I get is this loop I have described. I have restarted my phone and it still does the same thing. I have added my opposite thumb and it does the same thing for that finger. It's not working!

    Hi @bensieg,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. What happens if you put a registered finger on the Touch ID sensor (the home button) when viewing this screen?

    Please let me know.

I put my registered thumb on the icon and nothing happens. I have to click cancel to get somewhere.

  • @bensieg,

I think I see what the difficulty is. Your thumb doesn't go on the icon, it goes on the Touch ID sensor (which is the home button). Putting your thumb on the screen won't register. It has to touch, not press, on the home button -- just as you'd do to unlock your device. You don't want to click the home button, just rest your registered finger on it. No different than what you'd do when prompted for Touch ID at the iOS lock screen.

    I hope that helps!
