Wifi Sync: The "Sync" section of settings on my iPhone shows only a count of items

I can't start a sync and I can't turn off Wi-Fi sync. The Sync section of settings shows only the count of items. There are no other buttons at all.

I'm connected to Wi-Fi and have 1password running on my mac also on the same wi-fi network.

    Hi @foundart,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble with Wi-Fi sync and the sync settings in 1Password on your iPhone! I hope you don't mind, but I've moved your message to our iOS forum.

In 1Password 6 for iOS, we added a new "All Vaults" feature which allows you to view items from multiple vaults in the same view (in the Categories section, for example). It sounds like you have multiple vaults set up in 1Password on your iOS device and are in the "All Vaults" view, which unfortunately causes some confusion on the Settings > Sync screen because it only shows an item number. Here's what you'll need to do:

    • In 1Password on your iPhone, go to the Categories section.
    • Tap the vault icon in the upper left corner and choose the Primary vault.
    • Go back to the main Settings screen in 1Password, then tap Sync.

Now you should see the sync settings for the Primary vault. Does that help at all? I apologize for the confusion, and we're working on improving those settings so it's easier/clearer in the future. Let us know how it goes, and if you need more help with Wi-Fi sync. Thanks! :)

I've just noticed a related (but WORSE) problem with Sync when multiple vaults are in use. I had updated a few login records in 1Password on my iPhone, and I noticed that the changes I made were not synched to my vault in Dropbox, and hence, the changes did not show up on my laptop. Changes I made in my laptop also did not show up on my iPhone. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out whether Dropbox was not syncing, but eventually proved to myself that Dropbox was working fine. I rebooted my phone twice. No joy. I tried to trigger a manual sync on my iPhone, under Settings -> Sync, and discovered that no manual sync option existed! Boy was I frustrated!! Then, I happened to notice that I had "All Vaults" selected. Just as a random thought, I changed that to have my primary vault selected, and ZIP, all my changes synced in both directions!

It seems (from my empirical observations) that when "All Vaults" is selected, NO syncing occurs for any vault. This is very subtle and counter-intuitive, and can lead the end user to do counter-productive things, like edit the same record in both places... This feels like a design flaw-- or at the very least, a bug. It should be possible to have synching of all vaults work continuously regardless of which vault is selected, or if "All Vaults" is selected.

If I've gotten something wrong here, please let me know what I should do to avoid this issue. Otherwise, please correct this issue.

Thanks! And thanks for providing such an excellent tool and excellent support. Issues like this are very rare in my long experience using this software, so you deserve kudos for that! That past experience gives me confidence that this new issue will be handled well. :)
