iOS Safari Extension not showing all or relevant items

I've noticed in the last month or so that the when I try to use the iOS Safari extension on a webpage that I definitely have a 1Password entry for, 1Password doesn't show that entry and it can't be searched for. 1Password only shows a small subset of all my items, mainly credit cards and identities.

1Password is syncing via Dropbox and all items are up to date. I'm on the Latest iOS on iPhone 6+

  • Hi @mdagileuser,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. The Safari extension will only show login items where the domain portion of the login matches the domain of the web page you are currently visiting (the domain is the google.com or agilebits.com bit). If for exmaple you are on ebay.com and are trying to fill a login that only has paypal.com in the website field then it will not appear in the list. You'd need to add a second website field and enter an ebay.com URL.

    I hope that helps!

I see. I was confused because no matter what website I am on, it also shows me all the credit cards and all the Identities in my vaults, so I thought I was missing the rest of my vault. So if I understand correctly, the extension will only show Domain Relevant Logins, and Credit Cards and Identities (with the assumption that those may need to be filled out on any website).

That is a bit troublesome for those cases where one hasn't entered the domains into the vault thoroughly enough, but I can also imagine that it is a security risk to allow a user to search their entire vault and enter a login for 1 domain into any mobile accessed website, since the user may get misdirected to a phishing domain and not be able to tell the way that Safari displays URLs?

Yes, exactly, and that is indeed the logic for why it works as it does. :)

Sorry for the inconvenience but hopefully that answers the question.
