iOS upgrade price

I attempted to purchase the in-app upgrade to pro this afternoon. The green button showed a price of $5.99. I was checking out and I was asked to confirm the price of $9.99. I declined, backed out, then tried again. New price on green button was $9.99. How am I able to get it at the lower price?

Thank you

  • Hi @capt32,

Thanks for taking the time to write in. $9.99 USD is the correct current pricing of the Pro features.

    Thanks.

Sorry, but not really the answer I was expecting..Since the app displayed 5.99, I was hoping that it would be honored.I wish that I would have taken a screen shot. Great product, though.

    Thanks

@capt32 - You happened to be unlucky enough to have caught the end of the recent sale. There isn't anyway for AgileBits to honor the sale price for you, even if they were so inclined, since Apple doesn't permit any form of special pricing for individuals. It's really not any different from finding an item in a store that has gone off sale, except that you happened to be shopping during the actual transition.

There are fairly frequent sales for 1Password, though, so you might want to wait and see. The sales are never announced in advance, but they do get announced on Facebook, Twitter, and the AgileBits blog when they do arrive.

(I am a fellow user and do not speak for AgileBits on this matter.)

  • I'm sorry I don't have the answer you were hoping for @capt32. Unfortunately as hawkmoth mentioned the App Store doesn't give us any flexibility on pricing. The price they charge is the only price available. They do not give us the ability to offer individual discounts, coupons, etc. Having a screenshot of a lower price would not change this.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

    Great product, though.

    Thanks for the kind words!

Also as hawkmoth mentioned we do run sales from time to time, so if your purchase is not urgent you may wish to wait for another sale. :)
