I regularly get the error message shown whilst accessing Safari via 1P app. But the page still loads ok!!!

Any suggestions as to the reason

  • Hi @bdt1512

Thanks for taking the time to write in. From the screenshot you posted it appears you are seeing this error message in 1Browser. Do you ever see it in Safari? Does it appear to happen with certain web pages, or all web pages?

    Please let us know.

    Hi Ben,

Sorry for confusion. It only happens in 1Browser and mainly on The Times when I select another page from homepage. The main page loads ok, but error appears when I navigate to another. It never happens when in Safari app from my iPad
As page loads ok anyway, it's not a major problem. More of a irritation.

Thanks @bdt1512. I suspect this is due to an SSL error with The Times.

They do not have a valid SSL certificate (which is surprising). You can confirm by visiting https://www.thetimes.co.uk/ on your Mac. You should get a message like this one:

The exact message and the way it appears will depend on what web browser you use. I took this screenshot from a 64-bit build of Firefox (called "Waterfox").

That is something The Times will have to fix, if that is indeed the cause. In case that is not the issue I have filed a bug with our development team so that they can further investigate.

    Thanks!

Thanks for a quick response Ben.

Would the same advice apply for Windows 10 64-bit, I don't have a Mac?

I only use 1Password etc on my iPad Pro and iPhone 6s Plus

  • No worries, @bdt1512. I was just making the point. :) You don't have to do anything further.
