iOS fingerprint security question
I'm running the latest version of the iOS app (6.2) and it still allows me to use my fingerprint to unlock 1Password, even though I deliberately entered the wrong passcode 3 times before entering the correct passcode. I thought I read that the keychain will be cleared under certain conditions and one of those was entering an incorrect passcode?
I read from this page: https://support.1password.com/master-password-ios-keychain/
1Password will remove the secret from the iOS Keychain on certain occasions. For example, if the PIN Code is entered incorrectly or after the device has been rebooted.

@Holmium - I assume that you are entering the passcode of the phone itself incorrectly, not one for 1Password. On devices that allow Touch ID, your options for unlocking 1Password are to use your finger print (Touch ID) or your master password. And for devices that still allow using a PIN to unlock 1Password (because they don't have Touch ID available), you would be required to reenter your master password if you entered that PIN incorrectly even once. The device passcode doesn't affect any of this.

@Holmium: Indeed, 1Password (and other apps) are separate from the device passcode, so hawkmoth is correct if that's what you were expecting.
It's important to note that you can "force" the Master Password requirement in 1Password any time with bad Touch ID attempts (I'll often use a choice finger for this purpose when traveling). And if you power off the device, the Master Password will be required then as well. I hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the clarification folks.

With a small bit of fiddling, I found that with 1Password for iOS, the third try to open the vault with Touch ID using an unregistered fingerprint produces a demand for the master password.

Hi everyone!
The Improved locking in 1Password 5.5 for iOS blogpost has some useful information with regards to how Touch ID and locking works in 1Password for iOS.
Hope that this helps
Cheers!
